The 2017 Pro Bowl is the National Football League all-star game for the 2016 season which will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on January 29, 2017. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. After 3 years of a "drafted" format, the NFL announced that it would return to the format previously used for 42 years. The rosters were announced on December 20 on a Pro Bowl selection show on NFL Network. The coaches will be Jason Garrett for the NFC team and Andy Reid for the AFC team.

There were some NFL skill oriented challenges as well as some unique ones. Though, none of the three Raiders in the Pro Bowl participated, so the closest to a Raiders presence on the day was Charles Woodson as the NFC Legend coach. Jerome Bettis led the AFC team.

First up was the Best Hands competition which had receivers do an ‘around the world’ style timed event featuring two handed, one handed, NFL Pro Bowl Roster sideline, and over-the-shoulder catches. Competitors were Mike Evans, TY Hilton, Odell Beckham Jr, and Jarvis Landry. Landry would take home the win for the AFC with a time of 52.6 followed by Beckham, Evans, and Hilton.

New this year, the pro bowl 2017 Skills Showdown, pitting AFC and NFC all-stars against each other in unique competitions, will air Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. Each team in the Skills Showdown will feature a mix of quarterbacks, pro bowl 2017 Live running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, linemen, linebackers and defensive backs.

Ten players from the two teams participating in Super Bowl 51, the Falcons and Patriots, were selected to the original Pro Bowl roster this season: Linebacker Vic Beasley Jr., kicker Matt Bryant, running back Devonta Freeman, wide receiver Julio Jones, center Alex Mack and quarterback Matt Ryan of the Falcons, and quarterback Tom Brady, linebacker Dont'a Hightower, safety Devin McCourty and special teamer Matthew Slater of the Patriots.
